Do you provide the liquor?

Per Texas law, we cannot provide the liquor. However, we provide our clients with a detailed shopping list with estimated pricing to aid them in their liquor purchase.  In addition, we can place the order with the liquor retailer and arrange pick-up or delivery for the client.

What services do you offer?

We offer the following services:

  • Bartending and Barback Service
  • Beverage Service
  • Signature Cocktail Consultation and Creation
  • Self-Serve Drink Setups
  • Coordination of Additional Items Needed for Cocktail Catering
    • i.e. Bar rental, drink dispenser rental, margarita machine rental

What’s included in your packages?

Each of our packages (excluding the Party MiX package) include bartending and barback service, mixers, ice, glassware, garnishes, cocktail napkins and straws.  Glassware for cocktails that correspond to the selected package and indicated number of guests is included in packages.  Additional glassware can provided at an additional charge.  Packages are designed for at least 100 guests, but custom packages can be designed for smaller events.

Can I just book bartending service only?

Yes, our Party MiX package is our bartending service only package.  This package can be requested for service of mixed drinks, for beer and wine only, or for both mixed drinks and beer and wine.

What is the minimum number of hours for bartending service?

Our minimum for bartending service is 4 hours.  We will arrive one hour prior to the event to setup, and allot 30 minutes for breakdown time.  Any time between the one hour setup, and 30 minute breakdown is considered service time.

How can I get a quote?

We want to make sure that each client’s needs are taken into consideration, so filling out the Request for a Quote on our Contact Us page will be the best way for us to provide pricing info for you.  If you’re not quite sure about what services and options you would like, please call or e-mail us, and we will aid you in determining what services will work best for your event.

What is required to book an event?

A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to book your event.  The remaining balance will be due two weeks prior to the event.

What if my event is less than two weeks away?

Payment will be due in full at the time of booking for events that will occur in less than two weeks after booking.

What methods of payment are accepted?

We accept cash, check and PayPal as methods of payment.

What areas do you service?

We service Houston and the surrounding areas.  Event locations outside of Beltway 8 may require a travel surcharge.

Do you offer a cash bar service?

We do not offer a cash bar service.  The client is responsible for the cost of bar materials, including liquor and mixers, and bartending service at the time of booking.

How many bartenders will I need?

The rule of thumb is one bartender for every 75-100 guests.  If glassware is being used, barback service will be required as well.  Barbacks assist the bartender, and collect and wash glassware for reuse.  Events that exceed 4 hours, or with labor-intensive demands may require additional staffing.

What exactly is a “Signature” cocktail?

Signature cocktails are our specialty!  A signature cocktail is designed to fit the tastes and preferences of the client.  The signature cocktail can be whatever you would like it to be.  The client can utilize an already created cocktail and give it a name that is reminiscent of the host or the event, or a brand new cocktail can be created.  Elements, including flavor, color, garnishes, overall look, and even the name, give the signature cocktail its appeal.  Many hosts are selecting signature cocktails that fit their personalities, or the theme and feel of the event, and they are always a hit with guests.  Guests look forward to partaking in signature cocktails that give them the full experience of the event they are attending.

If you would like The MiX Bartending Services to design a signature cocktail for you, we will design several to choose from, using your preferences on the various elements of the cocktail.  The client can then attend a consultation to sample the cocktails to choose the one that best fits their preferences.  If a package with signature cocktails is selected, we will create a personalized menu, highlighting the signature cocktails.
